bed side table round up

books i've read recently or are reading currently:

flowers from the storm by laura kinsale-- absolutely RIVETING. i have to buy it, it's that good. ( i read the library's copy). a historical romance with a hero unjustly thrown into a lunatic asylum . . . FANTASTIC! no wonder it's still in print after 10 years. very rare with romances indeed!

you slay me by katie macalister-- "a paranormal thriller series featuring Aisling Grey, an apprentice Guardian, and her sometimes boyfriend, sometimes foe Drake Vireo, wyvern (leader) of one of the four dragon septs. Aisling finds her true calling when she travels to Paris to deliver a medieval object that is part of a set sought after for the power it wields." funny and fast reading.

No Idle Hands : The Social History of American Knitting
by Anne MacDonald
--not as dry as you non-knitters would imagine. actually quite fascinating!

knitting for dummies taught me what m1 was and how to do it! (make a stitch. makin loads of stitches for me mam's poncho)

sit, stay, slay by linda o. johnson-- a chick litty kind of mystery about a former LA attorney who now is a pet sitter. gets involved with a chisel-jawed PI as her clients keep dropping dead. you know, fun stuff!
