introducing the newest member in the house of skully! here is our new girl. (you may call her Chi-Chi or Chich for short) Chich is between 3-5 years old and was rescued from the Okeechobee swamp and left in a high-kill shelter before being scooped up by the kind folks at Pets in Distress. she appears to be some sort of chihuahua/boston terrier mix, and weighs about 15 lbs. she is SO FRIENDLY and spirited. she even went to knitting last night-- it turns out that dogs do like yarn. more so than the cats! she gummed up a ball that i was making a hat for my brother with (sorry tim! it's more vintage looking now!) the betties all loved her, even when she growled at the paramedics and med students in scrubs streaming in and out of the cafe (she seems to NOT like the men in uniform. conchita is anti-authority!)
the cats are intrigued and bored at the same time, if that makes any sense. sometimes they peer at her intently, and sometimes they roll over and face the wall as she walks by. luckily, no fur has flown! we are keeping her in the kitchen when not under supervision.
hey all you cool library girls in ga: thanks for reading! it turns out that besides the fantastic k.r. and my aunt sue, i have other cool ga readers like mary j! mary j: i think the firefly hat ROCKS! i think i might have to make one too!
