at least i still have plenty of knitting, right? cause i'm pretty down after finishing the last harry potter. ah, books! nothing else has the flavor i am looking for after being part of such a great fictional universe. i'm propping up myself with classic standby favorites agatha christie and terry pratchett--- and plugging away on nate's hoodie, which is getting longer and softer by the inch.
knitting was good tonight-- we had a visitor all the way from cleveland come and knit with us while here on vacation! that was cool. meg also brought all her "big easy" yarn she bought at the quarter stitch shop in new orleans-- we swooned over her stash!
have to teach a class tomorrow for work so i have to pop off early so i'm not too crabby at 8 am. yech! more later when i don't have such a HP crash mood.

i'm in the same funk as you. i've actually been carting the book around with me, and re-reading bits of it. once i let go, though, what is next? i have the last 3 pages of a Martha Grimes to finish, and that's it.
at times like this i usually turn to historical biographies.
I had fun showing off my yarn, but you forgot to mention that our visitor was knitting a thong out of red licorice!
I saw the pattern for the red licorice thong a long time ago when I hardly knew how to knit. I would love to knit that now. Did your visitor leave the pattern?
I'll be damned! Praise to the google goddess. All you need to do is google knit licorice thong. In knitty, it's called 302 calories! http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer04/PATT302calories.html
Hope you're feeling better now that there's a new baby in the circle!
